In 2003, the American Sail Training Association
celebrated the 30th anniversary of its founding. A lot has happened over that period, including
the growth of the organization from a handful of vessels that sailed
in the Northeastern United States to now over 250 tall ships and sail
training vessels that navigate the world's lakes, bays, seas, and oceans
providing character building experiences and lifelong memories for thousands
of youth of all ages each year.
A very important factor in our growth
over the years has been the strength of our membership. without
the support of our members, many of the education and scholarship programs
that we offer would not be possible.
