CIMI Tall Ship Expeditions brings schools out for weekend, 3 day, 5 day and weeklong trips to Catalina Island and the Northern Channel Islands. Our program focuses on sail training, marine biology and snorkeling. At any time we have a maximum of 49 people on board but the average is less than that. We have a professional crew of 13. All are hired with a mind for educating and working with kids.

The Ships Cook is a position that must be filled by someone who can work and live in a small community, is kid friendly and above all else likes to cook! Must be a self-starter and like hard work. All ordering/ inventorying is done weekly through our food purveyors. Food is delivered to the ship. We do have a vehicle for errands if need be. Budgeting and Menu help is present to get you on the right track.

Our Galley is on the Deck level and is equipped with an electric stove and a reach in refrigerator. We also have a walk in Freezer and lots of refrigerator space below decks. While on board you set your own schedule around the meal times. Snorkeling, SCUBA Diving, Kayaking and hiking are all available at times throughout a trip.

Duties include: Preparing and cooking food for all, Ordering, Menu planning, making a weekly inventory, managing cleanliness of galley and stowage of food, maintaining the galley budget,

The Wage is $75/Day plus room and board. You have your own room. During time off There are 3 island facilities that you can visit. They have access to trails, snorkeling equipment, kayaking, laundry facilities and internet. We also have a mountain science facility that has numerous trails, ropes courses and a pool. After 6 months of employement you are eligible for a raise and enrollment in our company health insurance program.

Although a car is not necessary, if you have a car, free parking would be made available near downtown Long Beach. There are a lot of stores and restaurants that are easily reached on foot or by bus. We have wireless DSL at the Dock if you have your own computer or you can use the ships computer.
