The students of Class Afloat have been completing high school classes and sailing the S.V. Concordia on our passage from Penang, Malaysia to Male, Maldives. While at sea, the students partake in regular classes, including a class on Seamanship and Navigation, as well as standing two-hour watches during the day and at night. U.S. Brig Niagara Focuses on Sail Training over Port Visitation For the first time in sixteen years of operation, the U.S. Brig Niagara will shift focus in summer schedule planning from port visitation programs to onboard sail training programs. Now that Niagara is inspected by the US Coast Guard as a Sailing School Vessel, we are creating our sailing schedules around our 3-Week Seamanship Training Program.

The UK Tall Ships Youth Trust are pleased to announce that special bursaries are now available for young people aged 16-25 to take part in the ASTA Tall Ships Challenge Atlantic Coast Series along the east coast of the USA on the UK Tall Ship Prince William.

This winter, the Picton Castle offers you the rare chance to join a few other fortunate young men and women to become a real, square-rig qualified seafarer, sailing among the exotic islands of the Caribbean. This is serious, hands-on seamanship and sailorizing, and quite a bit of work. It is also, without doubt, the best possible way to learn about the sweet islands and rich way of life of the Caribbean.
To commemorate the silver jubilee of the Sail Training Vessel Fair Jeanne, the foundation is planning a circumnavigation of the eastern United States and Canada starting in Kingston, Ontario, in July 2006 and concluding back in Kingston in the fall of 2007...
